Inspired by the strong Cursor community in Estonia, we are currently in the process of becoming ambassadors for Cursor in Latvia ourselves. I was wondering if Groq has, or is planning to launch, a similar community or representation program for local events and hackathons.
With Groq recently opening its Helsinki location, this feels like a great opportunity to help build awareness and engagement for Groq across the Baltic countries, Poland and of course in Finland. I would be happy to help organize or participate in hackathons, university events, and local meetups, either by hosting dedicated Groq sessions or by collaborating with partners and existing community events.
Is there a contact point or program for this, or would it be best to reach out directly to someone on the Groq team?
That’s a great idea! We’ve thought about doing this, especially in hacker spaces, local meetups and universities.
What kind of support would you need from us, generally, to run a successful event like this? Is there a preferred format you’d like to run for local meetups? Oh, and how do you usually set the vibe for a casual get-together like this- do you usually have topics coming in (e.g. like AI Tinkerers)?
Your best contact would be me and/or @ellatrib, as we’re working to shape the community up! We’d love to help you help us make this a reality! We’re quite new to running distributed meetups like this, but we’d love to make this a reality!
Hi Olaf, that all sounds great. We’ve been thinking along similar lines with planning regional meetups and events, like Jan mentioned. I’m going to take a look at how Cursor structures their ambassador program so we can pull some ideas from that.
It might be helpful if we created regional groups here on the community to help plan and coordinate meetups like this, that would make it easier to connect people who are nearby and interested in running events together.
I’d love to hear your feedback on @yawnxyz’s questions and any other input you have. From there I can start putting together a plan for how we might run these through the community and would love your help along the way!!
