Hi everyone, because of our abuse policy, we need to prevent VPNs from accessing our API and site.

Please continue to share your experiences and use cases and maybe we’ll relax the policy in the future!

I already wrote on another threat but this is getting annoying. We don’t even use VPN.

We like to keep using Groq but it is not really usable.

Hi. Yeah, this is a big issue. I’m about to launch some software that uses Groq, but it blocks ProtonVPN. That’s going to be a problem for a lot of customers (and myself). Especially in Australia now, because they’ve introduced new dystopian laws around ID verification, so VPNs are on the rise. I think you guys need to revise this policy.

NordVPN user here. Not a developer. Healthcare professional who wants to use Groq Compound and Groq Compound Mini at work via API (Jan AI) or web (Groq Playground). Cannot access either without disabling VPN – not an option. Such a shame. These are great models.

I’m not a professional developer, I’m just doing some projects for myself that would benefit from using groq, but as I said, I do use a VPN (and a PiHole, if that matters) at home and VPN on the go too.
At the moment, I am working on my transcription app / service for my phone and desktop PC. As an android user, WhatsApp does not offer transcription of voice messages in german, and therefore I built a little service with local (on phone) whisper-large-v3 (slow but quite nice), Gemini and groq, so I have options: local slow for when I do not have mobile or wifi available, or cloud based fast for when mobile data or wifi is available.
As is, I can only use the fast and precise groq model when I’m on mobile data or at home, because my phone does not have VPN enabled at home. Anywhere else where I am connected to a wifi, VPN is on and groq does not work.

Hi. I’m also getting blocked (may be by Cloudflare) when tring to use the Groq API.

Error:

  • groq.PermissionDeniedError: Error code: 403 - {‘error’: {‘message’: ‘Access denied. Please check your network settings.’}}

CF-Ray headers:

Location:

  • Seoul, Korea

Please exclude above the IP and CF-Ray, to use Groq again.
(I also know that I need to reduce my usage.)
